So I've been quite bored with the summer, not a lot to do. So I wanna find some good books to read. I am open to suggestions from everyone!!!
I like pretty much any kind of book, but some of my favorite genres are Science Fiction, Fantasy, anything with any comedic value to it, and, even though I hate to admit it, sappy teenage romance books XD
One of the most recent books I read that I really enjoyed was a book called "John Dies at the End" by David Wong. It was a great book, filled every requirement I have for a good book. Lots of science fiction and fantasy, very fun, a little love / romance, and the occasional (or quite frequent, actually) penis joke.
I think that one of the reasons I really enjoyed this book is because David Wong (AKA Jason Pargin) is the editor in chief of Cracked.com, one of my favorite websites. I love his writing style! It is very sarcastic but still descriptive, both managing to make me laugh and give me the information I need. It is definitely an excellent book for anyone who enjoys science fiction, fantasy, and penis jokes.
Here's the book's website if you wanna read up on David, his book and the sequel. You can also check out his articles on Cracked.com
Now back to the subject at hand, finding a good book. I had been watching HBO's Game of Thrones, I'm actually really sad that the season had ended. I am thinking about reading the books that the series is based on, A Song of Ice and Fire. I've been hearing good things from friends about them.
So please tell me about some of your favorite books and perhaps I'll read them and and talk about them on here
BYE-BYE FOR NOW :D
Havn't really read anything recently except A Sand County Almanac, but that doesn't really fit what you are looking for, A few friends have said the Game of Thrones books are good also.
ReplyDeleteI love the Artemis Fowl books, I think you'd like them, they fit what you say you like, and I have a review coming up on my blog (or it might be up already) about a book called Sabriel, I reckon you'd like that too, it also has at least one penis referrence.
